D. Guthrie Fishing Reels
David Guthrie - Brooklyn, NY
David Guthrie fishing reels were made in Brooklyn, NY in the 1860's
and 1870's. Guthrie went from being listed as a machinist in the City Directories to a supplier of
Fishing Tackle. Guthrie reels are not always marked on the outside of them. He sometimes marked
them on the inside of the reels. He sold sold to fishing tackle dealers such as A. Clerk & Co.
like the reel pictured below.
