Florida Artificial Bait Co. Superstrike Shrimp Lures

Florida Artificial Bait Co., Jacksonville, FL

George Ettles of Jacksonville, FL was granted a patent for his jointed celluloid shrimp in 1931. The sections were cut out of celluloid, painted by hand and then assembled. The shrimp fishing lure was sold in three sizes - six joints, five joints and fly rod size. The lure also came with a single large hook rather than the two treble hooks. There are three color paterns. The most common is the one with red pinstripes. Next most colon is the clear one with black highlights. The least common is the all white version.
